Are you FOR or AGAINST a SINGLE NZ Fire Rescue Entity.
I am for a single entity.
I am against combining the Fire entities.
I dont know or care.
At the 2007 UFBA conference, we were treated with Dame Margaret Beazley, Hon Rick Barker, National Commander Mike Hall, NZPFU's Derek Best, and UFBA Officials announce a Fire Review and restructure to in effect take over all Fire brigades and make everyone come under one act of parliament, no bickering about it, we are all the same, will have the same training, wear the same uniforms, and have same standards to attain and work to. This was called the "FRS legislation"

So, now we ask, What Happened??

Should the government have just done it, grab it by the nuts and pass the legislation through parliament. Why did they pause?
Should it have just been pushed through, they did it to the police and traffic departments.
Does this Labour led Government lack the kahuna's?...., maybe a National led Government will have the backbone and see the benefits of one structure, one entity, one system.
Did more want it than not?, did more support it than not, maybe they should have just created it, maybe not.

What about those Fire Forces/Fire Authorities who wanted it? Why was it stopped by only a few? Who are the losers, and did anyone care?
